Influential doctors in Jammu and Kashmir getting their transfer orders modified and somehow managing to evade the places where they are posted is setting a bad precedence.
According to the media reports doctors, who are close to powerful people, are calling the shots and are avoiding the places where they are being posted during the COVID-19 times. This is a cause of concern and if they keep on getting their transfer orders modified it will discourage others from serving at the places where people need them the most during this hour of crisis.
The helmsmen need to pay attention towards what’s happening under their very nose so that a common man doesn’t suffer in absence of the medical staff. During the COVID times most of the doctors have done a commendable job, but few non-performers are maligning the image of the entire fraternity.
Ones who are getting their transfer orders modified should look towards the doctors, who have been working without even taking an off during the past six months and are serving the people without expecting anything in return.
Officials, who are helping the doctors to stay away from the far flung areas need to be identified and taken to task for helping a few “blue eyed” work shirkers and are encouraging a culture which can lead to entire health system turning defunct.
The government needs to remain vigilant as the COVID-19 cases are refusing to subside. The virus is very much active and everyday people are getting infected. In these testing times medicos are the only people who can help.
A common man visits the hospital with a hope that doctor will treat him and he would get well. Most of the doctors realize that they are shouldering a huge responsibility.
But the ones who are not realizing the gravity of the situation need to be identified and told clearly that they cannot get away if they have to work. For this the entire system needs to be overhauled. Only a few people cannot be allowed to call the shots. Their wings need to be clipped to save the precious lives of the people.
The influential doctors cannot be allowed to ruin the entire system as the pandemic is not ending and virus continues to dance. Whatever said and done, all of us need to salute those members of the medical fraternity, who have been putting up a brave front against COVID-19 and working overtime to help the people.
