Early Times Report

Jammu, Oct 5: The Jammu and Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation (JKSRTC) has put aspirants, who had applied for various posts, in dilemma.
Although after a delay of so many years, the process was completed but the corporation is still sitting on the final selection list.
Sources told Early Times that JKSRTC had first advertised the posts for drivers, conductors, guards, helpers and junior assistant in 2014 wherein more than 8000 candidates had applied for but the process could not be completed due to flash floods in J&K. “As per corporation, the forms of applicants were washed away due to which the process was cancelled,” they said.
They further said that the department again advertised the posts afresh in 2016, wherein over 13000 candidates submitted their forms but again due to unknown reason, the process was withheld. Later again the department re-advertised posts on 23-4-2018 and accordingly driving tests were held from 19-11-2018 to 30-11-2018 in both regions Jammu as well as in Kashmir wherein all senior officials of the department were present including Managing Director, General Manager, ARTOs etc. “Even the videography of driving tests was also done to ensure transparency. Later a list of shortlisted candidates was out on 14-2-2019. Meanwhile the then Managing Director was transferred and the new incumbent withheld the final selection list. The matter has been getting delayed and since then around five MDs have changed,” they added.
Despite repeated attempts concerned officials couldn’t be contacted.
