SRINAGAR, Oct 5: The union territory of Jammu & Kashmir is on recovery path as there is a dip in fresh cases of Corona Virus with the recoveries increasing every passing day. Today 632 fresh cases of virus were reported while as 10 more people died in past 24 hours.
Jammu district reported 173 fresh cases of COVID-19 followed by Srinagar district 119 cases, Budgam district 39 cases, Rajouri district 35 cases, Udhampur district 33 cases, Kishtwar district 31 cases, Baramulla district 28 cases, Doda district 26 cases, Poonch district 25 cases, Kupwara district 23 cases, Anantnag district 20 cases, Ganderbal district 19 cases, Pulwama and Bandipora districts 15 cases each, Samba district 10 cases, Kathua district seven cases, Kulgam, Shopian and Reasi districts four cases each and Ramban district two cases.
Srinagar district reported two fresh Corona Virus deaths followed by a death each in Budgam, Baramulla, Bandipora, Rajouri, Ramban, Kishtwar, Doda and Poonch districts. So far 865 COVID-19 deaths have taken place in Kashmir valley with the number of such deaths in Jammu division being 387. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 632 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19), 346 from Jammu division and 286 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 79,738. Also 10 COVID-19 deaths have been reported; five from Jammu division and five from Kashmir Division.
Moreover, 1,386 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 936 from Jammu Division and 450 from Kashmir Division. Out of 79,738 positive cases, 14,696 are active positive, 63,790 have recovered and 1,252 have died; 387 in Jammu division and 865 in Kashmir division.
Out of 17, 23,337 test results available, 16, 43,599 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 5, 95,172 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 23,880 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 14,696 in isolation and 47,263 under home surveillance. Besides, 5, 08,081 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 15,652 positive cases, 1,858 active positive, 13,491 recovered, 303 deaths; Budgam has 5,114 positive cases, 784 active positive, 4,242 recovered, 88 deaths; Baramulla has 4,603 positive cases, 1,336 active positive, 3,142 recovered, 125 deaths; Pulwama has 4,067 positive cases, 366 active positive, 3,631 recovered, 70 deaths; Kupwara has 3,752 positive cases, 714 active positive, 2,970 recovered, 68 deaths.
“Anantnag has 3,644 positive cases, 497 active positive, 3,080 recovered, 67 deaths; Bandipora has 3,583 positive cases, 414 active positive, 3,129 recovered, 40 deaths; Ganderbal has 3,009 positive cases, 249 active positive, 2731 recovered, 29 deaths; Kulgam has 2,301 positive cases, 104 active positive, 2,154 recovered, 43 deaths and Shopian has 2,054 positive cases, 159 active positive, 1,863 recovered, 32 deaths,” reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 14,687 positive cases, 3,410 active positive, 11,074 recovered, 203 deaths; Rajouri has 2,824 positive cases, 574 active positive, 2,213 recovered, 37 deaths; Udhampur has 2,402 positive cases, 414 active positive, 1,967 recovered, 21 deaths; Doda has 2,311 positive cases, 898 active positive, 1,379 recovered, 34 deaths; Kathua has 2,147 positive cases, 267 active positive, 1,854 recovered, 26 deaths.
“Poonch has 1,884 positive cases, 880 active positive, 987 recovered, 17 deaths; Samba has 1,864 positive cases, 551 active positive, 1,291 recovered, 22 deaths; Kishtwar has 1,404 positive cases, 658 active positive, 736 recovered, 10 deaths; Ramban has 1,398 positive cases, 231 active positive, 1,156 recovered, 11 deaths and Reasi has 1,038 positive cases, 332 active positive, 700 recovered, six deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 79,738 positive cases in J&K, 8,962 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
