Jammu Cyber Police saves defrauded money | | | EArly Times Report
Jammu, Oct 8: The Cyber Police of Jammu on Thursday saved hard-earned money from fraudsters who offered dealership of Royal Enfield Company to the complainant against the payment of Rs two lakhs. Superintendent of Police, Naresh Singh, Incharge Cyber Police Station, Jammu Zone here said that on July 30, 2020, Cyber Police Station Jammu received a complaint from one Raj Babber Singh of Deoli Tibba, Bishnah in which he reported that he was defrauded with an amount of Rs 2 lakhs. He further stated in the complaint that he received an email from fraudsters pretending to be an employee of Royal Enfield Company and offered him a dealership and in the process, he was trapped and lost Rs 2 lakhs. Taking instant cognizance, the SP said that a team of Cyber Police Station Jammu dealing financial fraud cases headed by Inspector Manoj Kumar Gupta was activated and transactions were scrutinized to find out the outflow route of transactions involving complainant's defrauded money. Scrutiny of the transactions revealed that the amount was finally credited in an account of SBI Bank branch Bijoyganj, 24 Parganas PO Bijoyganj Bazar, West Bengal, he added and said that the matter was instantly taken up with concerned Branch to immediately block the transaction and refund back the defrauded amount into the victim’s account. “After strenuous efforts, Cyber Police Station succeeded in refunding back the defrauded amount to the complainant,” said the officer. Cyber Police Jammu has appealed to the general public to stay alert and vigilant against these online fraudsters. |
