| Balakote Panchayat boycotts B2V3 prog | | |

MENDHAR, Oct 8: Sarpanch, Panchs and locals of Balakote Panchayat in Balakote block of Mendhar Sub Division in Poonch district today boycotted the third phase of Back to Village programme. Though the officer designated for the scheduled programme reached the venue to hear the problems of the people but the Panchayat representatives did not come nor did the people reach. Sarpanch Nushrat Shaheen said that the government said that the back to village third phase is a futile exercise and would yield no result on ground. He said that the Panchayat does not yet have its own Panchayat Ghar to listen to the problems of the people. He said that many times the officers were made aware of this but the issue remained unaddressed. “People of Panchayat do not want to participate in this show off, we decided to boycott this programme,” he added.
