SRINAGAR, Nov 18: In Jammu & Kashmir the number of active positive cases of Corona Virus as on date is 5.34 percent of the total number of positive cases. Out of the total 1, 04,155 positive cases the number of active positive cases is 5,570. The union territory reported 574 new cases while as there were nine fresh deaths.
Srinagar district reported 136 fresh cases of COVID-19 followed by Jammu district 96 cases, Baramulla and Udhampur districts 50 cases each, Budgam district 46 cases, Ganderbal district 28 cases, Doda district 25 cases, Kupwara district 24 cases, Kishtwar district 20 cases, Pulwama and Bandipora districts 17 cases, Kathua district 16 cases, Anantnag district 12 cases, Ramban district 10 cases, Samba district nine cases, Rajouri district seven cases, Poonch district six cases, Shopian and Reasi districts two cases each and Kulgam district one case.
Srinagar, Jammu and Doda districts each reported two fresh Corona Virus deaths while as a death each was reported from Baramulla, Budgam and Pulwama districts. So far 1,068 virus related deaths have taken place in Kashmir valley while as in Jammu division 545 such deaths have occurred.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 574 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 241 from Jammu division and 333 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 04,155. Also nine COVID-19 deaths have been reported; four from Jammu division and five from Kashmir Division.
Moreover, 580 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 234 from Jammu Division and 346 from Kashmir Division. Out of 1, 04,155 positive cases, 5,570 are active positive, 96,972 have recovered and 1,613 have died; 545 in Jammu division and 1,068 in Kashmir division.
Out of 27, 01,918 test results available, 25, 97,763 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 7, 42,168 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 20,123 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 5,570 in isolation and 33,545 in home surveillance. Besides, 6, 81,317 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 21,820 positive cases, 1,574 active positive, 19,845 recovered, 401 deaths; Baramulla has 7,053 positive cases, 611 active positive, 6,283 recovered, 159 deaths; Budgam has 6,548 positive cases, 274 active positive, 6,176 recovered, 98 deaths; Kupwara has 4,951 positive cases, 525 active positive, 4,348 recovered, 78 deaths; Pulwama has 4,901 positive cases, 140 active positive, 4,675 recovered, 86 deaths.
“Anantnag has 4,453 positive cases, 195 active positive, 4,182 recovered, 76 deaths; Bandipora has 4,273 positive cases, 150 active positive, 4,074 recovered, 49 deaths; Ganderbal has 4,012 positive cases, 295 active positive, 3,680 recovered, 37 deaths; Kulgam has 2,557 positive cases, 72 active positive, 2,437 recovered, 48 deaths and Shopian has 2,285 positive cases, 71 active positive, 2,178 recovered, 36 deaths,” reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 19,317 positive cases, 596 active positive, 18,436 recovered, 285 deaths; Rajouri has 3,334 positive cases, 88 active positive, 3,198 recovered, 48 deaths; Udhampur has 3,104 positive cases, 266 active positive, 2,802 recovered, 36 deaths; Doda has 2,856 positive cases, 134 active positive, 2670 recovered, 52 deaths; Kathua has 2,643 positive cases, 79 active positive, 2,530 recovered, 34 deaths.
“Poonch has 2,359 positive cases, 90 active positive, 2,247 recoveries, 22 deaths; Samba has 2,303 positive cases, 113 active positive, 2,164 recovered, 26 deaths; Kishtwar has 2,222 positive cases, 139 active positive, 2,067 recovered, 16 deaths; Ramban has 1,780 positive cases, 103 active positive, 1,659 recovered, 18 deaths and Reasi has 1,384 positive cases, 55 active positive, 1,321 recovered, eight deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 04,155 positive cases in J&K, 10,405 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
