Adjusting’ outsiders in DDCs elections: BJP facing revolt at several places | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 18: As many deserving and dedicated workers were ignored only to adjust “influential and Bahubali” candidates of other parties, the disciplined BJP is facing revolt ahead of the District Development Councils (DDCs) elections. Instead of giving mandates to dedicated and committed workers, BJP leadership has given party tickets to some influential leaders with “money and muscle powers” who are habitual of joining one after another party. Highly placed sources said that there was strong resentment among committed party workers against, what they alleged, the wrong distribution of tickets. “At many places parachute leaders from other parties were accommodated at the cost of the dedicated party workers”, sources said and added that even some candidates with criminal records were given mandates by ignoring the party's own dedicated leaders. Sources said that “arrogant” BJP leadership was not ready to listen to the genuine grievances of dedicated workers as leadership was of the opinion that anyone who will contest election on the Lotus symbol will win easily. “At many places senior leaders have asked their loyalists to support independent candidates to teach arrogant leadership a lesson”, sources said and added that prevailing anger among party workers was likely to prove costly for the party in elections. Sources said that the party was facing revolt in almost all constituencies of DDCs because many party leaders had staked their claims for these elections. |
