Jammu, Nov 22: Continuing the process of conducting series of "e-literary meets", started by Nami Dogri Sanstha in view of pandemic restrictions , an "e- Dogri Kavi Goshthi" was organised which was presided over by Tarsem Mahajan a known Dogri and Hindi poet. The goshthi was compered and conducted by Yash Pal Yash General Secretary NDS on digital platform of NDS and was supervised and coordinated by Advocate Harish Kaila President of NDS. Twenty four Dogri poets recited their poetry covering various subjects like Covid pandemic, social values, romance, environment, politics and patriotism. Capt Lalit Sharma Convener NDS said that poets and writers touch, discuss, amplify and project the issues and dimensions in various forms of literary formats which otherwise skip the thought and sight of common man and make the society aware and pro-active . Tarsem Mahajan while high lighting the versatility and rich quality of Dogri literature lamented that our children are drifting away from mother tongue Dogri and appealed the government to make Dogri a compulsory subject at least up to 8th standard. He said societies which remain associated with their mother tongue remain connected with their land and environment. |
