SRINAGAR, Nov 22: The death toll due to Corona Virus in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reached 1,629 today as five deaths were reported in the past 24 hours. The total number of positive cases reached 1, 06,548 as 564 fresh cases were reported today. Jammu district 121 fresh cases of COVID-19 followed by Srinagar district 107 cases, Baramulla district 52 cases, Udhampur district 44 cases, Kupwara district 32 cases, Doda district 29 cases, Budgam district 28 cases, Pulwama district 25 cases, Ganderbal district 22 cases, Rajouri district 21 cases, Kishtwar district 17 cases, Samba and Ramban districts 15 cases each, Anantnag district eight cases, Bandipora, Kulgam and Kathua districts six cases each, Shopian and Reasi districts four cases each and Poonch district two cases. Jammu and Udhampur districts in the Jammu division reported two fresh deaths each of Corona Virus while as Srinagar district in the Kashmir valley reported one such death. In the Kashmir valley 1,074 people have died due to the virus so far while as in Jammu division 555 such deaths have taken place. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 564 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19), 274 from Jammu division and 290 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 06,548. Also five COVID-19 deaths have been reported; four from Jammu division and one from Kashmir Division. Moreover, 579 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 245 from Jammu Division and 334 from Kashmir Division. Out of 1, 06,548 positive cases, 5,700 are active positive, 99,219 have recovered and 1,629 have died; 555 in Jammu division and 1,074 in Kashmir division. Out of 28, 10,409 test results available, 27, 03,861 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 7, 63,975 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 19,180 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 5,700 in isolation and 46,800 in home surveillance. Besides, 6, 90,666 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 22,350 positive cases, 1,485 active positive, 20,462 recovered, 403 deaths; Baramulla has 7,243 positive cases, 536 active positive, 6,548 recovered, 159 deaths; Budgam has 6,705 positive cases, 299 active positive, 6,308 recovered, 98 deaths; Kupwara has 5,059 positive cases, 521 active positive, 4,458 recovered, 80 deaths; Pulwama has 4,987 positive cases, 166 active positive, 4,735 recovered, 86 deaths. “Anantnag has 4,503 positive cases, 181 active positive, 4,245 recovered, 77 deaths; Bandipora has 4,339 positive cases, 185 active positive, 4,104 recovered, 50 deaths; Ganderbal has 4,098 positive cases, 266 active positive, 3795 recovered, 37 deaths; Kulgam has 2,576 positive cases, 74 active positive, 2,454 recovered, 48 deaths and Shopian has 2,301 positive cases, 69 active positive, 2,196 recovered, 36 deaths,” reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 19,746 positive cases, 584 active positive, 18,873 recovered, 289 deaths; Rajouri has 3,378 positive cases, 103 active positive, 3,226 recovered, 49 deaths; Udhampur has 3,302 positive cases, 391 active positive, 2,872 recovered, 39 deaths; Doda has 2,947 positive cases, 171 active positive, 2,724 recovered, 52 deaths; Kathua has 2,683 positive cases, 74 active positive, 2,574 recovered, 35 deaths. “Poonch has 2,369 positive cases, 73 active positive, 2,274 recovered, 22 deaths; Samba has 2,368 positive cases, 137 active positive, 2,205 recovered, 26 deaths; Kishtwar has 2,339 positive cases, 165 active positive, 2,158 recovered, 16 deaths; Ramban has 1,841 positive cases, 160 active positive, 1,663 recovered, 18 deaths and Reasi has 1,414 positive cases, 60 active positive, 1,345 recovered, nine deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 06,548 positive cases in J&K, 10,574 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory. |
