Udhampur, Nov 22: For the first time District level cycling championship has been organized today in District Udhampur by J&K Cycling Association with the sincere and dedicated efforts of the Association amidst Covid-19 scare. The competition has been held at Government Degree College, Udhampur. The chief guest on this occasion was Ashok Kumar, Former Director Sports SMVD Shrine Board University who declared open the championship. A large no. of cyclists from the district took part in the championship in various age groups and exhibited their talent. The championship was held under the supervision by S. Ravinder Singh President (JKCA), S.S Gill General Secretary (JKCA), Om Parkash Associate Secretary, Ravi Salgotra - Treasurer (JKCA), Tejinder Singh – Member Org. Committee (JKCA), Joginder Singh Manhas-Interim President DCA, Rajan Gupta, Rajesh Sharma- Interim Gen. Secy., DCA Udhampur, Anil Verma (Member Org. Committee), Ishang Bandral, Member Org. Committee, K.B. Abhimanyu, Harpreet Singh, B.K. Manhas, Arjun Singh Salathia, & Vimal Sharma . The championship has been witnessed by huge spectators around Udhampur District. The President while appreciating the budding cyclists have assured them to provide them platform to at the UT & National level so that they are able to achieve distinction in sports. Following are the results of the championship:- For Under-12 Group (Jastej Singh stood 1st , Prabhnoor Singh - 2nd, Rohit Singh Bandral - 3rd), For Under-14 Group (Rajvir Singh - 1st, Rahul Kumar - 2nd, Gurveer Partap Singh - 3rd), For Under - 17 Group (Sunil Kumar - 1st, Mridul Sharma - 2nd, Goutam Mehra -l 3rd). |
