Agri-business incubator concludes at SKUAST-J | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 27: Agri-Business Incubator, SKUAST-J organized valedictory function of “Two months Virtual Agri-Entrepreneurship Startup Training programme” on 27.11.2020 at Division of Agricultural Economics and Agri Business Management, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu. The training programme was sponsored by Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Govt. of India and was organized by Agri-Business Incubator, SKUAST-Jammu under RKVY-RAFTAAR Project. The main focus of training programme was to provide academic, business & technical mentoring to the selected incubates so as to give wings to their creative abilities & innovative ideas for setting up their start-ups. Prof. J.P. Sharma, Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-Jammu was the Chief Guest for the programme. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. J.P Sharma briefed about the importance of innovation and agri-preneurship for upliftment of the agricultural sector. He said that our agribusiness ideas should be reoriented that link production with marketing. He further suggested the young minds of J&K and farmers also to come up with new innovative ideas for processing and value addition of agri-produce & develop competencies in packaging, branding and marketing of agri-business products as it is the most important tool towards doubling the farmers’ income. He exhorted the young start-up incubates to go for an offering which is technically feasible, economically viable and demand driven. He also praised and congratulated Dr. Jyoti Kachroo, Head & PI-CEO Agri Business Incubator, SKUAST-J on the successful completion of this two months training programme. |
