SRINAGAR, Nov 27: The union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reported 565 new cases of Corona Virus following which the total number of positive cases reached 1, 08,871. The death toll reached 1,676 as eight more people died due to the virus in the past 24 months. Jammu district reported 142 fresh cases of COVID-19 followed by Srinagar district 88 cases, Udhampur district 49 cases, Doda district 36 cases, Baramulla district 35 cases, Kupwara district 29 cases, Kishtwar district 28 cases, Budgam district 23 cases, Pulwama district 21 cases, Rajouri district 19 cases, Kathua district 17 cases, Samba district 15 cases, Ganderbal district 14 cases, Ramban district 13 cases, Bandipora district nine cases, Anantnag district eight cases, Reasi district seven cases, Shopian district six cases, Kulgam district five cases and Poonch district one case. Jammu and Doda districts in Jammu division each reported two fresh deaths of Corona Virus followed by a death each in Srinagar, Budgam, Anantnag and Udhampur districts. So far 1,097 virus related deaths have taken place in Kashmir valley while as in Jammu division 579 such deaths have occurred up to this date. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 565 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 327 from Jammu division and 238 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 08,871. Also eight COVID-19 deaths have been reported; five from Jammu division and three from Kashmir Division. Moreover, 596 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 200 from Jammu Division and 396 from Kashmir Division. Out of 1, 08,871 positive cases, 5,236 are active positive, 1, 01,959 have recovered and 1,676 have died; 579 in Jammu division and 1,097 in Kashmir division. Out of 29, 40,302 test results available, 28, 31,431 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 7, 82,712 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 20,275 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 5,236 in isolation and 43,432 in home surveillance. Besides, 7, 12,093 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 22,796 positive cases, 1,239 active positive, 21,141 recovered, 416 deaths; Baramulla has 7,380 positive cases, 388 active positive, 6,831 recovered, 161 deaths; Budgam has 6,827 positive cases, 286 active positive, 6,441 recovered, 100 deaths; Kupwara has 5,162 positive cases, 424 active positive, 4,656 recovered, 82 deaths; Pulwama has 5,057 positive cases, 156 active positive, 4,815 recovered, 86 deaths. “Anantnag has 4,527 positive cases, 123 active positive, 4,326 recovered, 78 deaths; Bandipora has 4,383 positive cases, 136 active positive, 4,197 recovered, 50 deaths; Ganderbal has 4,163 positive cases, 202 active positive, 3924 recovered, 37 deaths; Kulgam has 2,590 positive cases, 52 active positive, 2,488 recovered, 50 deaths and Shopian has 2,388 positive cases, 78 active positive, 2,223 recovered, 37 deaths,” reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 20,345 positive cases, 625 active positive, 19,424 recovered, 296 deaths; Udhampur has 3,482 positive cases, 442 active positive, 2,993 recovered, 47 deaths; Rajouri has 3,413 positive cases, 98 active positive, 3,266 recovered, 49 deaths; Doda has 3,066 positive cases, 240 active positive, 2,771 recovered, 55 deaths; Kathua has 2,748 positive cases, 90 active positive, 2,622 recovered, 36 deaths. “Samba has 2,430 positive cases, 160 active positive, 2,239 recovered, 31 deaths; Poonch has 2,387 positive cases, 64 active positive, 2,301 recovered, 22 deaths; Kishtwar has 2,435 positive cases, 250 active positive, 2169 recovered, 16 deaths; Ramban has 1,894 positive cases, 106 active positive, 1,770 recovered, 18 deaths and Reasi has 1,448 positive cases, 77 active positive, 1,362 recovered, nine deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 08,871 positive cases in J&K, 10,689 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory. |
