Police facilitate free passage to tractors, dumpers during night hours | Illegal mining continuous in Chatha, Satwari areas | | RAJESH TANDON Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 27: The menace of Illegal mining business is spreading its tentacles at a rapid pace in Jammu ever since the ban on mining has been imposed by the High Court and in all this the police have become the main facilitator, which has been giving free hand to the tractor trolleys, tippers and dumpers for carrying minor mineral during night hours for their vested interest. Sources told Early Times that the major mining can be seen in Chatha, Satwari and other areas near Tawi river bed and the police stations and Chowkis which fall under these areas have been minting money. The local residents of Chatha area alleged that the noise of tractor trolleys carrying minor minerals can be heard entire night hours, which crosses the local chowki and continues to make disturbances. "The tractors, tippers and dumpers laden with minor minerals start moving from 10 pm in the night and continue late night. A video has gone viral wherein driver of tractor was seen disclosing that construction material is brought from Tawi bed, Akhnoor," they alleged further adding that there are many tippers and dumpers plying illegally belong to BJP leaders. They further said that when concerned DySP was informed about it, he immediately directed the concerned SHO to take action and a tractor was seized. Meanwhile when concerned Tehsidar RS Pura was contacted, he said that he would write a letter to the concerned police seeking explanation of it. |
