Active positive 5170, recovered 106372, casualties 1746 | JK reports 531 new cases of Corona Virus, four fresh deaths; positive cases reach 113288 | | Jehangir Rashid Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Dec 6: The union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reported 531 new cases of Corona Virus following which the total number of positive cases reached 1, 13,288. The death toll due to the virus reached 1,746 as four more people died in the past 24 hours. Jammu district reported 132 fresh cases of COVID-19 followed by Srinagar district 97 cases, Baramulla district 36 cases, Kathua district 35 cases, Budgam district 29 cases, Udhampur and Kishtwar districts 28 cases each, Doda district 25 cases, Rajouri district 23 cases, Samba district 15 cases, Anantnag district 14 cases, Reasi district 12 cases, Bandipora district 11 cases, Pulwama and Shopian districts 10 cases each, Ganderbal district nine cases, Kupwara district seven cases, Poonch district six cases and Ramban district four cases. Jammu district in the Jammu division reported two fresh Corona Virus deaths followed by a death each in Srinagar and Kupwara districts. So far 1,126 people have lost their lives due to the virus in Kashmir valley while as in Jammu division 620 virus related deaths have taken place up to this date. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 531 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19), 308 from Jammu division and 223 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 13,288. Also four COVID-19 deaths have been reported; three from Jammu division and one from Kashmir division. Moreover, 366 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 194 from Jammu division and 172 from Kashmir division. Out of 1, 13,288 positive cases, 5,170 are active positive, 1, 06,372 have recovered and 1,746 have died; 620 in Jammu division and 1,126 in Kashmir division. Out of 31, 74,647 test results available, 30, 61,359 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 8, 07,280 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 20,940 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 5,170 in isolation and 29,731 in home surveillance. Besides, 7, 50,053 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 23,688 positive cases, 1,191 active positive, 22,070 recovered, 427 deaths; Baramulla has 7,599 positive cases, 211 active positive, 7,225 recovered, 163 deaths; Budgam has 7,114 positive cases, 291 active positive, 6,720 recovered, 103 deaths; Kupwara has 5,269 positive cases, 217 active positive, 4,967 recovered, 85 deaths; Pulwama has 5,191 positive cases, 168 active positive, 4,937 recovered, 86 deaths. "Anantnag has 4,617 positive cases, 136 active positive, 4,401 recovered, 80 deaths; Bandipora has 4,492 positive cases, 135 active positive, 4,302 recovered, 55 deaths; Ganderbal has 4,281 positive cases, 180 active positive, 4,062 recovered, 39 deaths; Kulgam has 2,612 positive cases, 63 active positive, 2,498 recovered, 51 deaths and Shopian has 2,388 positive cases, 84 active positive, 2,267 recovered, 37 deaths," reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 21,429 positive cases, 787 active positive, 20,326 recovered, 316 deaths; Udhampur has 3,807 positive cases, 457 active positive, 3,299 recovered, 51 deaths; Rajouri has 3,602 positive cases, 213 active positive, 3,339 recovered, 50 deaths; Doda has 3,217 positive cases, 193 active positive, 2,967 recovered, 57 deaths; Kathua has 2,902 positive cases, 118 active positive, 2,742 recovered, 42 deaths. "Kishtwar has 2,590 positive cases, 241 active positive, 2,329 recovered, 20 deaths; Samba has 2,560 positive cases, 231 active positive, 2,296 recovered, 33 deaths; Poonch has 2,410 positive cases, 49 active positive, 2,339 recovered, 22 deaths; Ramban has 1,992 positive cases, 97 active positive, 1,875 recovered, 20 deaths and Reasi has 1,528 positive cases, 108 active positive, 1,411 recovered, nine deaths," reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 13,288 positive cases in J&K, 10,877 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory. |
