Mehbooba making all efforts to ensure Para's victory! | | | Early Times Report jammu, Dec 6: PDP president and former Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti is working overtime to ensure victory of 'arrested' party's youth wing president Wahid-Ur-Rehan Para who is contesting District Development Councils (DDCs) election from Pulwama-A constituency. Para is a joint candidate of the Peoples' Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) from this constituency. While as many other PDP candidates are contesting DDCs poll, Mehbooba Mufti has made it a point to ensure that Para smoothly sailed through the electoral battle. Former Chief Minister visited the residence of Para two-day back to give a message to the people. On the eve of the polling, Mehbooba re-tweeted posters of Para from twitter, asking people to vote in his favour. Two-day after his arrest, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) had got 15-day remand of Para on November 27 after producing him in the Court on the same day. Parra, who had filed his nomination for District Development Council (DDC) elections from Pulwama in South Kashmir, was arrested for his alleged "close links" with Irfan Shafi Mir, arrested along with Hizbul Mujahideen militant Naveed Babu and suspended Deputy Superintendent of Police, Devender Singh. Ironically as one of the constituents of PAGD, many PDP leaders are in the electoral battle for DDCs elections but Mehbooba Mufti is only worried about Para's victory. She has made it a prestige issue to ensure victory for her party's youth wing president. |
