POONCH, Dec 20: In the ongoing Premier League championship in four disciplines of Hockey, Football, Kabaddi and Volleyball, which is being organized by J&K sports council in collaboration with associations of different games, formidable side of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur hockey club (affiliated with Hockey J&K in the union territory of J&K) defeated Sham Lal Hockey Academy 2-1. Experienced Gurdev Singh scored first goal while Matinder Pal Singh scored second goal for BBSB club, while for SLHA, Navjot Singh scored one goal. Earlier in league matches, BBSB club defeated Power House club 4-0, Bhagat Singh club 9-0 and in the last league match today, defeated Sham Lal Hockey academy and won top position after completion of all matches in league. SLHA stood at No two, Power House club at third and Bhagat Singh club stood at fourth position. The final match was officiated by Harmik Singh, Vikas Sharma, Narinder Singh and Rajinder Singh Toofan. A mixture of young and experienced players, Baba Banda Singh Bahadur club played total hockey in the championship and impressed one and all. NIS qualified coach of BBSB club Matinder Pal Singh congratulated the team for this brilliant performance and advised the players to gear up for next level of championship which will be held at Jammu. |
