Jammu, Jan 1: A Sub Inspector deputed in one of the city’s police stations has been accused of misbehaving with people who come to police station for lodging complaints. Besides he is also habitual of disregarding the order of his superiors. Sources told Early Times that in a recent mobile theft case, wherein a snatcher riding on Activa scooty had decamped with a mobile of a student, who was later arrested by the police Shockingly the Sub Inspector posted in the police station did not return the mobile phone on one pretext or the other. Astonishingly, the thief and his scooty were released but police didn’t return the phone of the student. The student, who studies in Class 11th is being harassed by the officer as well as the other staff in the police station. Though the concerned Dy SP ordered the officer to return the phone, the alleged Sub Inspector didn’t listen to the order of his superior. Some senior citizens told Early Times that the staff in the police station misguide, threaten people who come regarding their problems. “When police need publicity, they invite the media by organizing functions to return the stolen things of but in this case the innocent student, who takes up his online classes is being deprived of his rightful belonging,” they alleged. When Early Times contacted the concerned Dy SP in this connection, he said that he would inquire about the matter and will issue necessary direction. |
