Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 1: To give free shelter for beggars, Raain Basera home is being run under Jagriti Mahila Udyog Kendra NGO, in the municipality building, Kalka colony, Jammu. Veena Bakshi is incharge and caretaker of the unit. Speaking to media, Bakshi said that some people have extended hands towards home but this is meager help. People here need clothing, ration, warm clothes, medical aid, pocket money for daily needs, she said, adding that there are 20 inmates here. The Jammu development authority has provided the venue and handed over to social organisation Jagriti Malila Udyog to protect the lives of beggars and destitutes. Bakshi told that some of the inmates are serious patients and required generous support of all kind. The most affected are Sukhram of Jharkhand state, who is waiting for his piles treatment immediately which requires alleast 80 thousands, as for recovery of health. Manisha has two children, both husband and wife are beggars. Papu is local physically challenged. Chandan from district Balia, Bihar and Chander Gupta and so on. She appealed to govt and private parties to help the affected people by donating warm clothing, jackets, blankets, Ration, pocket money etc. |
