Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 2: Duggar Manch, Jammu, Grand Academic Portal India, Uttarakhand Sanskrit University, Haridwar and UfirstMag, Sikkim jointly organized Trans-Himalayan Multilingual Online Poetry Conclave-2021 with the objective of bringing awareness among young generation about the relevance of regional languages. Young poets in the age group of 15 to 25 years were invited to present their poems in their mother-tongue. The languages that were chosen for the program were Dogri, Gharwali, Kumauni, Bhutia, Lepcha and Nepali. The Chief Guest of the program was former Deputy Chief Minister of J&K, Dr. Nirmal Singh. In his address, he lauded the efforts of the organizers from Jammu, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Sikkim, for coming up together with such a creative idea of uniting the trans-Himalayan region through languages. He suggested the organizers to include poets from Gilgit- Baltistan, Himachal Pradesh and Arunachal Pradesh to make it truly Trans-Himalayan in nature. In the inaugural session of the program, Mohan Singh, President Duggar Manch, welcomed all the participants, intellectuals and eminent guests from Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra and expressed his gratitude for coming up with their talent under one umbrella. The Guest of Honor for the program was Mamta Singh, Praant Sanyojika of Mahila Samnvaya. In her concluding remarks she observed that the promotion of Indian languages is of utmost importance and keeping in view of NEP 2020 it becomes more pertinent to promote the study of regional languages. In the last session, the names of the winners were announced. The winners who bagged top three prizes in Dogri language were Lalit Anthal, Anuj Kumar and Sunaina Choudhary, while, Diksha Kaluria and Sakshi Sambyal bagged the fourth and fifth position. In Gharwali and Kumaoni languages, Dhaneshwar Diwedi, Kavita Pandey and Akhilesh Juyal won the first, second and third prizes respectively. In Sikkimese languages, Seeya Limbu bagged the first prize, Parashmani won the second prize and Binita Darjee got the third prize. |
