Jammu, Jan 2 : An Army jawan was found hanging under mysterious circumstances in Akhnoor area here on city outskirts.
Police here said that early morning on Saturday at about 0400 hours, information was received through reliable sources that Sepoy Sandeep Singh (23), of village Julani, District Jind Haryana, at present, EME BN Daskal Akhnoor, died in suspicious circumstances and his dead body is found hanging with an iron bhim at Loha Santri Post of Army officer Mess at Bangti Daskal.
Police said that as his death occurred in suspicious circumstances and in order to ascertain the cause of his death, an Inquest proceeding U/S 174 Cr.PC initiated and police team rushed on the spot and FSL team also called on the spot, after conducting photography, videography dead body shifted to SDH Akhnoor for post-mortem. After Postmortem, dead body handed over to Army authorities for last rites on proper receipts, police added. |
