Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 5: As a face saving measure Education Department Poonch has termed the story about headmaster tampering with the date of birth certificate of a student as baseless, but the fudged certificate of the student belies the claim of the department.
It is pertinent to mention here that Early Times in its edition of February 4, 2021 had reported about DOB of a student being tampered by the headmaster of GPGS Sakhi Maidain but when the matter was brought into the notice of the Chief Education Officer Poonch, he instead of taking action against erring headmaster, issued a letter to this newspaper terming the news as fake and baseless.
The documents in the possession of this newspaper clearly show that the student has two date of births.
Father of student, Mohammad Aslam Khan alleged that he had already submitted the documents regarding two date of birth certificates due to deliberate tampering by the headmaster GPS Sakhi Maidan to CEO Poonch and to the Director School Education Jammu demanding inquiry but till date he has not received any reply from both the officers.
When this reporter contacted the CEO Poonch and asked him about his comments on the documents the DOB sent to him and to know the reason for sending a letter without verifying the documents, the CEO got infuriated. He blocked the phone number and whatsapp number of this reporter to avoid any further reply.
Meanwhile, when Director School Education Jammu was contacted , she said that she has read the documents and assured that she would get the matter enquired and will reply to it.
