When Mehbooba Mufti was criticizing Centre for, what she alleged, murdering democracy in J&K, her Rajya Sabha member Mir Mohammad Fayaz was praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Government for providing every possible help to the people of J&K.
"We should not hesitate to accept the reality. Whenever we raised any demand before the government all our demands were accepted within no time. In addressing peoples' grievances we faced problems in J&K not from the Union Government", Mir said in his farewell speech in the Rajya Sabha.
"Centre has conducted DDCs, BDCs and Panchayat elections and people turned up in large numbers to participate in the polls", he said and admitted that welfare schemes launched by the Centre have changed the lives of the people of J&K". |
