SRINAGAR, Feb 13: The union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reported 60 new cases of COVID-19 following which the total number of positive cases reached 1, 25,268. Following a fresh death the death toll due to the virus reached 1,949.
Srinagar district reported 27 fresh cases of Corona Virus followed by Jammu district 10 cases, Pulwama district five cases, Budgam district four cases, Anantnag and Baramulla districts three cases each, Ganderbal and Kulgam districts two cases each and Kupwara, Udhampur, Rajouri & Reasi districts one case each.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 60 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 13 from Jammu division and 47 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 25,268. Also one COVID-19 deaths have been reported from Jammu Division.
Moreover, 77 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including nine from Jammu division and 68 from Kashmir division. Out of 1, 25,268 positive cases, 616 are active positive, 1, 22,703 have recovered and 1,949 have died; 724 in Jammu division and 1,225 in Kashmir division.
Out of 48, 22,635 test results available, 46, 97,367 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 12, 11,946 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 33,881 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 616 in isolation and 1, 10,420 in home surveillance. Besides, 10, 65,080 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 26,492 positive cases, 217 active positive, 25,816 recovered, 459 deaths; Baramulla has 8,156 positive cases, 29 active positive, 7,952 recovered, 175 deaths; Budgam has 7,818 positive cases, 38 active positive, 7,662 recovered, 118 deaths; Pulwama has 5,783 positive cases, 35 active positive, 5,660 recovered, 88 deaths; Kupwara has 5,671 positive cases, six active positive, 5,569 recovered, 96 deaths.
"Anantnag has 4,952 positive cases, 42 active positive, 4,824 recovered, 86 deaths; Bandipora has 4,702 positive cases, 12 active positive, 4,628 recovered, 62 deaths; Ganderbal has 4,659 positive cases, 46 active positive, 4,566 recovered, 47 deaths; Kulgam has 2,709 positive cases, 15 active positive, 2,640 recovered, 54 deaths and Shopian has 2,583 positive cases, 14 active positive, 2,529 recovered, 40 deaths," reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 25,075 positive cases, 85 active positive, 24,618 recovered, 372 deaths; Udhampur has 4,236 positive cases, 25 active positive, 4,154 recovered, 57 deaths; Rajouri has 3,873 positive cases, five active positive, 3,813 recovered, 55 deaths; Doda has 3,436 positive cases, six active positive, 3,366 recovered, 64 deaths; Kathua has 3,256 positive cases, 3,203 recovered, 53 deaths.
"Samba has 2,835 positive cases, nine active positive, 2,786 recovered, 40 deaths; Kishtwar has 2,733 positive cases, one active positive, 2,710 recovered; 22 deaths; Poonch has 2,518 positive cases, 23 active positive, 2,471 recovered, 24 deaths; Ramban has 2,135 positive cases, two active positive, 2,112 recovered, 21 deaths and Reasi has 1,646 positive cases, six active positive, 1,624 recovered, 16 deaths," reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 25,268 positive cases in J&K, 11,893 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory
