Reasi, Feb 13: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi under the administrative control of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J) showcased different farm technologies during the farmers fairs recently held at remote village Barmeen of Ghordi block in Udhampur district and Seela village of Reasi distt. of J&K. The district level events were organised by the Deptt of Agriculture, Udhampur and Reasi and were attended by a number of farmers of the respective districts. KVK, Reasi actively participated in the farmers fairs and showcased various agricultural technologies to the farmers with special focus on organic agriculture, medicinal and aromatic plants, latest varieties of cereals, pulses, oilseeds, and value addition. Literature regarding the progressive farming was also distributed among the farmers. During the technical sessions, Scientist &Head of KVK, Reasi spoke in length on the diversified agriculture and urged the farmers to adopt the latest farm technologies so that their crops production and productivity can be enhanced. He also spoke on commercial organic farming, lemon grass farming, spices farming and waste flowers management. |
