SRINAGAR, Mar 14: The union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reported 105 new cases of Corona Virus following which the total number of positive cases reached 1, 27,640. No fresh case was reported from five districts of the union territory in the past 24 hours or so.
Srinagar district reported 51 fresh cases of COVID-19 including nine travelers followed by Jammu district 16 cases, Budgam district 12 cases, Baramulla district eight cases, Anantnag and Udhampur districts three cases each, Kupwara, Kathua and Reasi districts two cases each and a case each from Pulwama, Bandipora, Kulgam, Shopian, Rajouri & Poonch districts. Ganderbal, Doda, Samba, Kishtwar and Ramban districts reported no fresh case.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 105 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 25 from Jammu division and 80 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 27,640.
Moreover, 66 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 15 from Jammu division and 51 from Kashmir division. Out of 1, 27,640 positive cases, 920 are active positive, 1, 24,746 have recovered and 1,974 have died; 730 in Jammu division and 1,244 in Kashmir division.
Out of 55, 58,779 test results available, 54, 31,139 samples have tested negative till date.
Till date 13, 89,087 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 29,365 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 920 in isolation and 1, 16,576 in home surveillance. Besides, 12, 40,252 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 27,571 positive cases, 422 active positive, 26,685 recovered, 464 deaths; Baramulla has 8,393 positive cases, 95 active positive, 8,121 recovered, 177 deaths; Budgam has 7,973 positive cases, 63 active positive, 7,790 recovered, 120 deaths; Pulwama has 5,902 positive cases, 23 active positive, 5,787 recovered, 92 deaths; Kupwara has 5,710 positive cases, 11 active positive, 5,602 recovered, 97 deaths.
“Anantnag has 5,085 positive cases, 28 active positive, 4,966 recovered, 91 deaths; Bandipora has 4,727 positive cases, 15 active positive, 4,650 recovered, 62 deaths; Ganderbal has 4,687 positive cases, 17 active positive, 4,623 recovered, 47deaths; Kulgam has 2,751 positive cases, 13 active positive, 2,684 recovered, 54 deaths and Shopian has 2,622 positive cases, 21 active positive, 2,561 recovered, 40 deaths,” reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 25,398 positive cases, 166 active positive, 24,855 recovered, 377 deaths; Udhampur has 4,324 positive cases, six active positive, 4,261 recovered, 57 deaths; Rajouri has 3,879 positive cases, two active positive, 3,822 recovered, 55 deaths; Doda has 3,440 positive cases, two active positive, 3,374 recovered, 64 deaths; Kathua has 3,271 positive cases, six active positive, 3,212 recovered, 53 deaths.
“Samba has 2,843 positive cases, seven active positive, 2,795 recovered, 41 deaths; Kishtwar has 2,739 positive cases, one active positive, 2,716 recovered, 22 deaths; Poonch has 2,533 positive cases, 13 active positive, 2,496 recovered, 24 deaths; Ramban has 2,135 positive cases, 2,114 recovered, 21 deaths and Reasi has 1,657 positive cases, nine active positive, 1,632 recovered, 16 deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 27,640 positive cases in J&K, 12,648 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene.
As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
