| Mail of Jasrotia Biradari held | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Mar 14: The mail of Jasrotia Biradari was held at village Jasrota capital of erstwhile Jasrotia dynasty. The congregation was attended by more than 50 thousand members of the spirited Jasrotia clan. The event was also used for release of a book on the history of erstwhile Jasrota State authored by eminent writer and ex distinguished Officer of Indian Army Lt Col Joginder Singh Jasrotia.
The book besides the glorious past of the Jasrotias also covers heart rendering and touching incidents of the 1947 partition when the Muslim brethren parted from Jasrota and were so dearly and diligently cared for and protected by the brave Jasrotias ensuring their safe exodus to the newly formed State of Pakistan. Those left behind were absorbed and owned as family members, yet keeping their religious sanctity intact.
The book was released by Chief Guest Dogra Ratan Maj Gen (Retd) and ex-MLC Goverdhan Singh Jamwal, who is also president Jammu and Kashmir Ex-Services League. Among other distinguished personalities were Retd IGP SS Jasrotia, Lt Col JS Jasrortia, Vice Chairman DDC Raghunandan Singh, Sub Maj Bishamber Singh (Chief Organizer) Surinder Singh, a scion from the erstwhile ruling family of Jasrotia dynasty also graced the occasion. The event will be remembered among the largest congregations of the Jasrotia clan. |
