JAMMU, Mar 24: Jammu and Kashmir Handicapped Association (JKHA) has thanked the lieutenant governor administration for framing rules to protect the rights of persons with disabilities. According to press release, President JK Handicapped Association Abdul Rashid Bhat on behalf of the community thanked LG, Principal Secretary Social Welfare Department, Secretary Social Welfare Department, Director Social Welfare Department Jammu for fulfilling one of their genuine demand. They also appealed to the Chief Commissioner for persons with disabilities Govt. Of India as well as LG of J&K UT to enhance the monthly pension of persons with disabilities from Rs 1000 to Rs 5000 per month given the increase in price of essential commodities. They also demanded creation of jobs for unemployed youth, survey of persons with disabilities, free education to the wards of persons with diabilities beside redressal of other demands. |
