Azad trying to rope-in leaders of other parties before taking final decision
3/25/2021 12:04:34 AM

Early Times Report

Jammu, Mar 24: After being sidelined by the party high-command, former leader of opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Ghulam Nabi Azad has been approaching ‘influential’ leaders of other political parties to announce his future course of action.
Although Azad is in constant touch with his own loyalists in the J&K Congress, he also has opened channel of communications with leaders of other parties who are feeling ‘suffocated’ in their respective parties.
Reliable sources said that before formally announcing his future course of action, Azad would try to lure influential leaders of other parties who have strong mass base in their respective areas. “During the last two weeks, Azad has opened channel of communications with many leaders”, sources said and added that Azad has assured every soon some important decision will be taken regarding J&K politics.
Wishing anonymity a close-confident of Azad told that he (Azad) was in touch with some prominent leaders of other parties so as to rope them before announcing any final decision. “Working in the Congress under the leadership of G A Mir is not possible so we are exploring other possibilities”, he said.
Sources said that it was all due to directions of Azad that his loyalists have boycotted meetings convened by AICC incharge J&K Rajni Patel in Jammu and Kashmir divisions respectively during her five-day stay at Jammu.
As reported earlier, Azad has asked its loyalists in J&K to ‘have patience’ and wait for some time before taking any major decision.
Sources said that instead of asking his loyalists to raise a banner of revolt against J&K Congress chief G A Mir, who has supported the decision of the party high command to sidelined senior leaders, Azad has decided to wait for an appropriate time to flex his muscles. He is, sources said, preparing a list of leaders who have contacted him at this crucial time.
