Early Times Report

JAMMU, Mar 24: After the successful conduct of Annual Regular examination of Class 10th, 11th and 12th Session, 2020 of Kashmir Division and Winter Zone areas of Jammu Division and that of the Union Territory of Ladakh, followed by successful declaration of results, JKBOSE-is ready to conduct the third phase of the said examination in the Summer Zone areas of Jammu Province.
Chairperson, JKBOSE, Prof. Veena Pandita in her message has extended her best wishes to the students. "Year 2020 has been a difficult year for all of us on account of COVID-19 pandemic but the life has to move on by evolving news strategies to cope with the challenges. We, at JKBOSE, are continuously endeavouring for best possible solutions in the interest of students and I am hopeful that all such efforts will be supported by the students and all other stakeholders. I urge the students to devote the available time to the best possible extent to prepare for the ensuing annual examination-s. Let us all defeat this pandemic by observing all the SOPs issued in this regard in and around the examination centres," she added.
In view of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic situation and challenges thereof, the number of examination centres has been increased to ensure compliance of social distancing norms. In addition to this, JKBOSE has taken various initiatives to facilitate the students amidst the academic disturbance caused due to pandemic.
To ensure that the academic session is not wasted because of the unavoidable circumstances, adequate concessions have been awarded to ensure that the academic progress smoothly goes on.
Taking cognizance of the fact that despite lifting of lockdown, the students have attended Online classes only, a relaxation of 40% has been awarded in the content to be attempted in the question paper besides an open choice in the selection of questions. Such concessions have not only ensured timely conduct of examination in the earlier phases of Annual exam 2019-20 but also boosted the moral of the students which resulted in better performance of the students than last year.
Further, the examinations of Summer Zone areas of Jammu Division which are normally held in the month of February have been postponed to April so that the students get some more time to prepare for their examinations. JKBOSE has issued a set of instructions to all the examination centres the SOPs with regard to preventing the spread of COVID-19 virus like maintaining the Social distancing, sanitization of the examination halls, wearing of facemasks, carrying of water bottles by students etc. All the parents have been requested to ensure to report to the Superintendent of the concerned Centre in case their ward is exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19.
