Listening public grievances for their timely redressal priority of Govt: Div Com

REASI, Mar 24: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Dr Raghav Langer today conducted an extensive tour of Reasi district and attended the Block Diwas (YOUM- E- BLOCK) and listened to people's issues.
Pertinently, the Block Diwas is an initiative of Jammu and Kashmir Government aimed at listening grievances of public and to redress the issues on priority. The Divisional Commissioner termed Block Diwas as an important interface between Government and Public. He said that it will not only resolve public issues but many inter departmental issues.
The Block Diwas was attended by District Development Council, Chairman, Saraf Singh Naag; Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Ajay Kumar Sharma; SSP, ADCs, ACD, CMO, CEO BDO, besides district officers of various departments.
A large number of people including DDCs, BDCs Chairperson, Sarpanches/ Panches and locals from various panchayats of the district also participated in Block Diwas.
At the outset, the Divisional Commissioner interacted with all the district officers present on the occasion and sought brief status report on various flagship schemes of their respective departments. The concerned officers apprised the Div Com about the present status of works, schemes and key issues of their respective departments.
The PRIs, Public put forth their demands seeking improved road connectivity, renovation of school buildings, Health facilities, up gradation of Jal Shakti and power infrastructure, rationalization of teaching staff in schools, resolution of mining issues, development of water bodies and other issues of public concern.
The Div Com issued on the spot directions to the concerned departments for timely resolving the projected issues. He assured the PRIs, Public that all the genuine demands would be met on priority.
He also asked the district officers to provide proactive information to the PRIs and public regarding their projected issues. He also instructed them to keep on tracking the submitted grievances till the issues are not redressed.
The Divisional Commissioner highlighted that the Government has taken various mission mode projects for improvement of water supply schemes including Jal Shakti Mission (Har Ghar Nal se Jal) similarly, PMGSY Phase-III is being started in near future for better road connectivity.
The concerned officers also informed that the most of issues raised by public are under consideration and most of them would get resolved under languishing projects, PMDP and other funding schemes.
The Divisional Commissioner directed the DC to hold a review meeting with all the concerned officers and seek physical and financial status of Back to Village 3, 15th FC works, resolve issues related to mining, rationalization the teaching staff and redress all the issues raised by the public in a time bound manner.
