Court rejects bail of Spl Secy home in forging of DOB | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 24: Special Judge Anti-corruption Jammu Yash Pal Bourney today rejected the bail application of Dr- Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Special Secreatry Home who was arrested by Crime Branch in forging Date of Birth. The Special Judge Anti-corruption Jammu observed that the initial appointment of accused/applicant and his dramatic rise in position from Helper to Law Officer together with the plum posting he enjoyed throughout his career couldn't have happened without the blessings of some insider(s) in the top notch of the State Administration, who are yet to be identified. The judge observed that in the given circumstances, releasing the applicant on bail at this stage would be detrimental and certainly jeopardize the interest of the free, fair, just and impartial investigation into the matter. Further, his very presence outside would be an open intimidation to the witnesses and will go in long way to deter them from coming forward to depose against him on account of his socio-political clout and influence as is apparent from the record. Therefore, it would be against the interest of the society at large and send a wrong signal to the masses if the applicant is granted bail at this stage. Therefore, there is no merit in the instant application and the same deserves to be dismissed. |
