KVK organizes Training Programme on Commercial Organic Farming | | | Early Times Report
REASI, Mar 24: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J) today organized one day farmer training programme on commercial organic farming/natural farming/cow based economy/sustainable agriculture here at Talwara village. The training programme was attended by a number of tribal farmers of the village. The programme was organised under the guidance of Director Extension (DE) of SKUAST-J, Dr.SK Gupta. Scientist & Head of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi, Dr. Banarsi Lal started the programme with the warm welcome of the farmers. He gave a detailed view of principles of organic agriculture. He said that such programmes will help the farmers to commercialize the organic farming in the region and assist them to increase their organic crops production by providing the scientific guidelines on commercial organic farming. He said that there is dire need to adopt the eco-friendly agricultural practices to protect our soil and environment health which further can help us to produce the healthy and safe food. He explained some important soil formulations for the enrichment of soil. He guided the farmers on crops productivity enhancement techniques while sustaining soil and ecosystem health through organic farming. He also explained the method of preparation of organic inputs like Panchgavaya, fermented butter milk, jeevamrit etc. used in organic farming. |
