J&K Retired Police Pensioners hold protest against pay anomaly | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Apr 5: J&K Retired Police Pensioners held a protest against pay anomaly near Press Club, Jammu under the chairmanship of Ajit Singh. Addressing the protesters, Ajit Singh said that Govt. Order No. 229 — F of 2014 dated 17-10-2014 regarding pay anomaly is injustice with the police pensioners as the effect is being given prospectively, which means from the date of order whereas, the effect should have been given from the year 1996 when 5th pay commission was implemented throughout the State but only the Police Department was left out. He said that the surviving strugglers should get the benefit. He further said that in recruitment of Police Departments and professional courses 15% quota should be reserved for the Police personnel while he also sought at least Rs 50,000 be sanctioned at the time of marriage of daughters / sons of the Police Retirees as a financial help out of welfare funds and at least Rs 50,000 should be sanctioned at the time of death of police personnel / retires for performing the last rites of the deceased. Singh said that recently the Central Govt. has issued ordinance regarding one rank one pension, the J&K Govt. should also follow the same pattern in Police Department. He urged to resolve the pending cases of appointment under compassionate ground at the earliest since the age of available candidates is increasing. Moreover their financial condition is very bad which has led to frustration amongst them, he added. |
