Nothing short of one place settlement in Valley acceptable to displaced KPs: KPC
4/14/2021 11:28:27 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 14: Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) in a meeting at New Delhi today under the chairmanship of its President Kundan Kashmiri pledged and reiterated its demand for one place settlement at the land of Kashyap in the valley for all displaced victim Kashmiri Pandits. Kundan Kashmiri said none of the displaced KP is ready to return to previous locations or clusters on the dictate and directions of others after thirty one years of their exile which is not warranted to their safety and security without one place settlement in the valley.. President KPC stated that return of displaced KPs is a serious and sensitive issue and needed to be dealt sensitively and appealed all not to play with sentiments of victim KPs. He said nothing has changed for victim displaced Kashmiri Pandits, so far, who are the direct victims of terrorism, separatism, and social injustice for the last 31 years. KPC Chief further reminded that hours after some Kashmiri Pandits (KPs) arrived in Srinagar on January 25, 1998 for exploring homecoming possibilities, some shadowy gunners in army fatigue appeared in the sleepy Wandhama hamlet of Ganderbal and killed 23 innocent non-migrant KPs. The event not only derailed the homecoming prospects, but also triggered some new migrations. What happened afterwards became the classic case of an untraceable probe. He said that KPs one place settlement at the "land of Kashyap '' in Kashmir Valley is the only viable solution which could also prove helpful in solving the so-called Kashmir issue. Hence, KPs in general and Kashmiri Pandit Conference in particular categorically demand and declare that carving out a separate Kashyap Bhoomi with writ of Indian constitution is precondition for KPs return to the valley for which sincere efforts needs to be taken by the Govt. and comprehensive dialogue to be hold with the displaced Kashmiri Pandit community and its leadership at the earliest possible. Other KPC activists and leaders spoke on the same lines.
