| Lecture on “Ayurveda in Present Scenario” held | | |

Jammu, Apr 30: Government Degree College, R.S Pura organized an online Lecture on the topic “Ayurveda in Present Scenario” as part of ‘Ayushman Bharat Diwas’ under the banner of “Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav”.
The event was conducted under the patronage of Dr. G.S Rakwal, Principal of the College and Supervision of Dr. Anuradha, convener Cultural Committee in collaboration with Department of Sanskrit.The event started with the welcome address by Prof. Vijay Kumari Department of Environment Sciences. Dr. Rajesh Sharma, Department of Sanskrit highlighted the importance of Ayurveda.
Dr. Arun Gupta, Medical Officer, Indian System of Ayurveda, presently posted at Kadmal (Katra) was the guest speaker on the occasion. In his valuable lecture he talked about healthy-lifestyle system that people in India have used more than 5000 years. Ayurvedic medicine is holistic, which means viewing the body and the mind as a whole. Ayurveda stresses proper diet for maintaining good health and treating diseases. Ayurvedic science has been found to be effective in treatment of mild to moderate cases of COVID-19 deadly infection. In the present scenario Ayurveda has helped a lot in fighting with deadly disease of COVID-19. The lecture was concluded with formal vote of thanks by worthy principal of the college.
