Private Diagnostic Centres Association offers help in vaccinating, testing of people in Kashmir | Div Com Kashmir writes to COVID-19 in-charge to explore possibility | | Jehangir Rashid

SRINAGAR, Apr 30: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Pandurang Kondbarao (P K) Pole today asked the in-charge of COVID-19 in Kashmir valley to explore the possibility of working in close liaison with diagnostic centres association in vaccinating the people and also testing the people for Corona Virus. The direction came after the Private Diagnostic Centres Association (PDCA) Jammu & Kashmir wrote a letter to Divisional Commissioner Kashmir and extended help to the government in its process of carrying out vaccination and testing of the people in the Kashmir valley. The Association wrote that it is ready to help the government in this regard purely on humanitarian basis. Following this letter Divisional Commissioner Kashmir asked Dr. Talat Jabeen to read the proposal in detail and explore the possibility of working in liaison with the PDCA in vaccination of the people and also in the testing process with pilot basis in the initial phase. Dr. Talat is the in-charge of COVID-19 in Kashmir at the divisional level. “Dr. Talat please give hearing & explore possibility, initially on pilot basis,” wrote Pole while marking the letter to Dr. Talat Jabeen. The move comes a day before the vaccination of people having age of 18 years or above. It also comes in the backdrop of a huge rush at the vaccination centres with people jostling to get the Jab. In the letter the PDCA, J&K through its President Umar Iqbal Dhar has offered free COVID-19 testing and vaccination services in the Kashmir valley. It has been written in the letter that since a huge number of people are going to be vaccinated in the near future the Association is more than willing to extend helping hand to the administration. “Since the COVID-19 pandemic posing a challenging situation to us all, we the private diagnostic service centers Association in the Kashmir valley want to assist voluntarily the administration in the challenging situation,” wrote Umar Dhar in the letter. A copy of the same has also been addressed to Director Health Services Kashmir and Chief Medical Officer, Srinagar. The letter further reads, “I urge you to utilize our services in testing and vaccination of the people in the valley. We urge the government to provide us testing kits and vaccination and we will offer free human resources and other utilities for this process.” The PDCA President in the letter writes that the offer is being made out of human gesture adding that the same will reduce rush on health centres and hospitals and will also reduce the workload on health care workers of the government. |
