JAMMU, Apr 30: Convener, Industries and Trade Cell, BJP J&K Sham Lal Langer has expressed serious concern over the alleged black marketing of oxygen and life-saving drugs in Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory. In a press handout issued here today, he said that during the previous few days the people across the J&K especially in Jammu have been complaining about the black marketing of various equipments and drugs including oxygen and Oximeters and the UT administration needs to address this significant issue instantly especially keeping in view the critical situation on account of the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic. He urged the concerned departments to initiate strict measures to stop black marketeering. Langer expressed strong anguish over the deteriorating conditions in Delhi and Maharashtra where he said people are openly black-marketing oxygen cylinders and selling Remdesivir injections at exorbitant rates. He said that it is the foremost duty of the administration not only to remain vigilant against such unscrupulous elements hoarders and black-marketers but also to take immediate punitive action against such elements so that others in the trade are deterred to even think of resorting to such anti-social activities involving the question of life and death of the people. He also demanded stringent action against those who are indulging in rumour mongering especially with regard to the efficacy of vaccines. BJP leader advised the people to follow all the precautions sacredly be it social distancing, proper use of face masks and sanitizers as these would ensure the arrest of the spread of deadly virus spread. Moreover, he appealed to the people not to step out of their homes unnecessarily.
