JAMMU, Apr 30: Police have claimed to solve a theft case by arresting a burglar and recovering stolen gold items weighing 5 tolas. According to police sources, on March 5, 2021, a complaint was lodged by one person namely Vijay Sharma, S/o Prabh Dayal, R/o Kathar Tehsil Maira Mandrian Jammu that some unknown thief/thieves entered his house and stole gold ornaments weighing about 5 tolas. On this, case FIR No. 58/2021 U/s 457/380 IPC got registered at P/S Akhnoor respectively, they added. Sources further said that on this special teams of Police Station (PS) Akhnoor under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Varun Jandial were constituted. The team led by SHO PS Akhnoor Inspector Hilal Azhar with the help of CCTV footage of the area and other technical aid finally rounded up a suspect namely Shabir Shah, S/o Sakhi Mohd, R/o Kansi Patta Reasi. During sustained questioning, the accused confessed his involvement in the case and on his disclosure stolen gold items weighing about 5 tolas have been recovered from him. Further investigation of the case is going on to ascertain their involvement in other crimes, thy added. |
