Tackling Crisis | | | Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha directing the administration to provide COVID-19 kits to the patients in home isolation is an appreciable move. There are thousands of patients who are fighting COVID-19 within their homes and they do need facilities and support. The COVID kit consists of one Pulse Oximeter, 10 tablets of Paracetamol (500 gm), three tablets of Ivermectin (12 mg), five tablets of Azithromycin (500 gm), five tablets of Zinc, 10 tablets of Vitamin C, and four tablets of Vitamin D. The kit also consists of two pamphlets comprising list of Do’s and Don’ts and COVID protocol for positive patients in home isolation. The pamphlets also carry advice for home isolation positive patients regarding the use of medicines provided in the kit. The government is trying its best to help the people in this hour of crisis. Besides these kits the government has authorized the NGOs to provide oxygen cylinders to the patients who require the oxygen within their homes. The second wave of COVID-19 has hit us hard but this time the government seems better equipped to handle the situation. In hospitals situation is grim but the administration is trying its best to provide the facilities to the patients. Doctors and paramedics are doing a wonderful job and are putting in all their efforts to save the lives of people. The only thing which we can do at present is that we have to fight the COVID as we are caught in a war like situation. The government is providing us ammunition. We have to manage the patients with courage and patience. The government has set up 24x7 Helplines to provide guidance to the patients who are within their homes. People need to utilize this service so that they get proper guidance. There are some lacunas that need to be addressed but to blame the government for not being able to handle the situation is being unfair. These are tough times but these too shall pass. We have to be resilient. Many of us have lost our kith and kin and many are battling for their lives in hospitals. This pandemic has taught us that nothing is permanent as the virus has changed the very definition of life. Right now, it’s all about survival and remaining firm. |
