Horticulture Deptt organizes virtual meet for farmers of Samba

SAMBA, May 11: A Google Meet was organized today by the Department of Horticulture Planning and Marketing for farmers/ growers of Samba district.
Vishesh Mahajan, Director Horticulture Planning and Marketing, Tehsin Chib AD G&P, Anuj Verma AGMO Samba, Dr Sanjay Khajuria Sr. Scientist KVK, Ashwani Sharma DLSMS Samba, Rupinder Singh AEO, Romesh Singh Chairman BDC Nud, Saleem Chowdhary, Baldev Raj Sarpanch, Tejinder Kour Sarpanch, Goutam Jamwal ex-Sarpanch, Prashant Charak, Rasal Singh, Jatinder Singh and other progressive farmers/ growers joined the virtual meet.
Director Horticulture Planning and Marketing was present all through the virtual meet and gave message to growers/ farmers of Samba district that all government functionaries are at their toes to achieve Prime Minister Narendra Modi's target of doubling farmers' income by adopting innovative methods in production as well as in Post Harvest Management including ethical grading, innovative and presentable packaging, branding and marketing activities through network of Government Mandies and the E-NAM platform.
Director Horticulture Planning and Marketing gave on spot directions to the AD G&P, AD Marketing, AMO and AGMO Samba to make aware farmers/ growers use E-NAM platform to enhance their income vertically. Director Horticulture Planning and Marketing also asked the departmental Officers to organise a FPO of all fruit growers of Samba district, so as to provide them common facilities. Director Horticulture Planning and Marketing exhorted upon growers/ farmers of Samba district to create a unique identity of Horticulture produce and value added products of Samba district. In this regard, he appreciated efforts already put in by few proactive growers/ farmers viz., Prashant Charak, late Karan Singh, Baldev Singh and Champa Devi Jasrotia. AD G&P, Sr. Scientist KVK Samba, AGMO Samba, PRI representatives and few progressive growers also spoke at length in today's virtual meet.
