Jammu helplessly witnessing ‘pogrom’; Are Babus still hiding their monumental blunders? 39% positive case, 63 % death rate 5/11/2021 11:37:44 PM Early Times Report Jammu, May 11: Notwithstanding tall claims of the Babus of the Health and Medical Education Department (HMED), Jammu premium health institute government Medical College (GMC) continue to witness ‘pogrom’ of helpless patients- infected with the deadly virus. One can witness heartening scenes where employees and helpless family members are seen shifting bodies of their dear ones to the mortuary of the GMC for their cremation as per COVID protocol. On Tuesday J&K recorded single-day highest Coronavirus deaths as 65 persons succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours. Out of these 65 deaths, 41 reported from Jammu only. Similarly, J&K recorded 4352 fresh positive cases-1708 in Jammu division and 2644 in Kashmir Valley. It means that Jammu province recorded 39 percent of the total positive cases but 63 percent of the total deaths during the last 24 hours. On the condition not to be quoted by name, a couple of senior doctors of the GMC told the Early Times that the situation was worsening with every passing day due to non-availability of adequate infrastructure. “We are helplessly watching patients succumbing to the deadly virus”, a doctor said, adding, “doctors and para-medical staff members are working round the clock, but they are handicapped due to non-availability of required infrastructure”. A senior doctor said that ‘Resident Doctors and Interns’ are working 24x7 in Covid wards with the support of their seniors but the only problem is infrastructure. He said that doctors, para medical staff and patients are bearing the brunt of inhuman and casual approach adopted by the Babus who, with one way or another, created hurdles in developing infrastructure in hospitals in general and GMC. “Instead of presenting a clear picture before higher-ups these officers are still hiding blunders committed by them earlier”, he said and cautioned that this attitude of authorities would be proved disastrous for people.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
