Following COVID-19 sops only way out

Attendants of the COVID-19 patients have raised a query. Most of them are asking if they can serve the positive patients then why they can’t touch their bodies, if any of their kith and kin dies.
Experts were initially of the opinion that once a person dies due to COVID, the virus becomes more contagious and deadly. The same protocol is being even followed today.
Another reason for government restricting the number of people participating in the funerals is that it can lead to infection spreading very fast.
This is not the time to raise questions. We need to follow the COVID-19 sops in letter and spirit to keep the cases under check.
One can understand that it’s very painful to bid goodbye to our kith and kin without even seeing their face for one last time but situation is such that we will have to bear it. The pestilence has put us in a quandary and its onslaught has left us wounded and bruised.
These are difficult times and we have to come out of it by one way or other. There is no doubt about the fact that the attendants of the COVID-19 patients put their lives at stake while taking care of them and if someone dies it hurts.
The situation is such that we have not been left with many options. We have only one option that’s to follow the COVID sops and take precautions so that we remain safe and protect ourselves from getting caught in the quagmire of uncertainty.
There are reports that the attendants of the COVID-19 patients are not being provided with the PPE kits in the hospitals and many of them are even seen taking food within the hospital wards. This practice needs to end. If the attendants too start getting infected it can lead to a catastrophe.
Recently, Principal Government Medical College Jammu issued an order restricting the entry of attendants into the COVID wards. The order also stated that only one attendant can accompany the patient.
People should understand that the authorities are trying to make things simple and imposing restrictions are a part of containing the virus.
The lockdown and other steps being taken are a part of the strategy to prevent the virus from moving and infecting the human beings. If we have to save lives we need to be more resilient and cautious. The COVID-19 is out to infect everyone.
The best form of attack is defence and we cannot lower the guard we have to make our defences stronger.
