People are not getting slots for vaccination in 18-45 age group: Shagotra
5/12/2021 11:11:04 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT

Jammu, May 12: Expressing his concern over the non-availability of vaccination slots for the 18 to 45 age group, the District President of the Jammu urban unit of J&K Apni Party, Pranav Shagotra asked the authorities to make all vaccination centres functional to intensify the campaign.
In a statement issued here today, Pranav Shagotra recalled that with much publicity vaccination drive for the 18 to 45 age group was started on May 1 with a promise of 100 percent vaccination. He, however, regretted within a week’s time most of the centre for this group have been closed.
“For the last one week, people are trying to get the slot but to no avail”, he said and asked, “If the government does not have vaccination in its kitty what was the fun of starting the drive for publicity?”.
Apni Party leader made it clear that the deadly virus is gradually engulfing every section of the society so authorities should not take vaccination campaign lightly.
He asked the administration to arrange vaccination as early as possible to inoculate as many as people to control the virus.
He said that due to the surge in the positive cases, people are in a hurry to get themselves vaccinated but they are not getting slots for vaccination which is a very serious matter.
Cautioning against adopting casual approach in vaccination campaign, Mr Shagotra mentioned that residents of the Jammu region are already bearing brunt of such indifferent attitude of the authorities.
He reiterated that it was all due to the causal approach of the authorities in establishing oxygen plants in hospitals, that Jammu is witnessing ‘death dance’ in all hospitals.
Apni Party leader further appealed to the authorities to check black-marketing of medicines and other medical equipment.
He sought to draw the attention of the authorities towards the action of some elements who have been trying to take benefit of prevailing panic among people.
