Workshop on “Advancement in Concrete Technology” concluded at YCET

JAMMU, May 12: A three-day long workshop on “Advancement in Concrete Technology” organized by the Civil Engineering Department of Yogananada College of Engineering and Technology (YCET) Jammu in collaboration with JK Cement and Ultratech Cement concluded.
The main objective of this workshop was to make participants familiar with the recent trends in advancement of concrete technology. Many Intellectuals from all over the country attended this conclave. The resource persons were Prof Shwetha KG, Associate Professor, NMIT, Bengaluru and Prof. Mahesh Kumar CL, Associate Professor, NMIT, Bengaluru. The session was started with the welcome address by Er. Rajnish Magotra, HOD Civil Engineering Department.
He thanked all the participants, resource persons and special guests for their gracious presence.
The introductory talk was given by Faizan Malik, student coordinator. The first session by addressed by Prof. Shwetha KG. She gave detailed presentation on “Application of Nano Concrete in Civil Engineering field”.
The next session was addressed by Prof. Mahesh Kumar CL and he also gave power point presentation on “Role of Alternative materials in concrete for sustainable construction”. Both the sessions are followed by Q&A sessions where the experts clarified the doubts of the participants.
On the occasion, Dr (Prof) A.K. Srivastava, Director, YCET shared his views about the initiative taken by Civil Engineering Department for organizing this 3-day long concrete conclave, especially when the things are stand still.
The prominent present during this conclave were Yasir Majid Khan, Head Technical Cements(J&K), Amit Bhagat, Technical services Manager (J&K) Ultra Tech Cements, Prof Rameswaram, SRM, Chennai Ikechukwu P.Ejidie Anchor University, Lagos Nigeria and many more.
The Coordinator Er Kamal Kishore provided technical support and gave vote of thanks.
