Rajouri, May 12: Amid COVID-19 surge across JK UT, around eight deaths were reported due to COVID in the last 24 hours, which have struck the entire Rajouri district. Among eight deaths, around six deaths were reported in the Government Medical College Rajouri where patients were being treated for COVID-19. One death in Kandi and other in Darhal. Meanwhile, 230 COVID positive cases were reported today, which was informed by ADC Rajouri Sher Singh in his tweet. Besides 100-150 positive cases are being reported on a daily basis. Administration appealed to the people to stay at home and take all preventive measures by following SOPs. Civil Societies of Rajouri have been extending help to the victims of COVID-19 and urged the administration to provide more facilities in hospitals. They also pointed out the need for increasing bed capacities in the GMC Hospital Rajouri and demanded that anybody who comes from other states in Rajouri should be quarantined for 14 days so that spreading virus might be stopped. Although recovery rate of COVID positive is also very good yet more efforts need to be done to curb it. They alleged that MoS PMO took virtual meetings with administration and Principal of various GMCs to review the situation in various districts but swift action is the need of the hour. |
