EARLY TIMES REPORT

VIJAYPUR, May 16: Amid the deadly 2nd wave of corona pandemic, the people are facing difficulties in obtaining ration at the government ration depots in and around Vijaypur.
Councilor Rajan Sharma says that it has become difficult for the people to take ration from the government depot. “Second wave of the corona is spreading very rapidly; on the other hand, people are facing hardships in getting ration. Amid the fear of Coronavirus people are forced to get ration through the biometric system”, he said. The councilor has demanded from the government that the thumb (biometric) system should be discontinued and a plan should be made to provide ration at the doorsteps of the people keeping in view the strict restrictions due to the imposition of lockdown. The District Working President of Congress Bubble Gupta also expressed his concern over the difficulties being faced by the people in getting ration.
He said that during the Corona pandemic, people are facing numerous hardships in getting ration from the government depots.
“People are not able to keep social distance due to the gathering of huge crowds at the ration depots. To prevent unnecessary crowding at the Ration depots, the administration must arrange door to door ration services to the people”, he said.
He further said that the government should make such a plan that the ration should reach the door steps of the people so that the gathering of people could be avoided.
Social Worker, Raghu Mahajan has also demanded from the government that during this pandemic a strategy should be adopted by the administration to provide home delivery of ration to the people.
When contacted Assistant Director, CAPD Mukhtar Ahmed said that the ration supply without a biometric system is a decision to be taken by the higher authorities, only they are competent to amend it.
