Srinagar, May 16: Amid a nationwide crises in the wake of Covid-19, the people of Kashmir have been allegedly preferring to buy bakery over saving their own lives, with medical health experts fearing rise in the cases in the valley coming days.
In this shocking revelation, on the social media, it has been observed that ahead of Eid, people violated the government guidelines to buy bakery with medical health experts saying that it can lead to more cases.
The people of Kashmir on social media had been accusing each other in the valley of playing with their own lives to buy bakery.
Even the District Development Commissioner, Srinagar, apprehended spread of the ailment due to bakery sales.
“DDMA Srinagar asked for Testing of all Bakery workers. Out of 99 lifted samples, 8 have tested positive on RT-PCR. Mostly from renowned Bakery shops. Let’s stay indoors. #coronavirus has unique art of locating the right person,” the DC Srinagar said in a tweet.
“You want Bakery or OXYGEN,” said a concerned citizen.

“Meanwhile people will go for bakery and other shopping come what may, that’s a given, Kashmiris become fidayeen for celebrations but considering the present precarious situation, either bakers, butchers, departmental stores, wholesale marts will have to shut shop or there has to be a very strict curfew, because if that’s not the case I assure you there will be increase in case,” said another concerned citizen on the social media.
Since the outbreak of second wave of Coronavirus, J&K Police have “enhanced its efforts to sensitise the masses about controlling the highly contagious Coronavirus” and a “ Slew of measures including restrictions u/s 144 have been put into place to contain the spread of Covid-19.”
Police said in “view of the record surge in daily cases across the Kashmir Valley, Police also enhanced the efforts to implement the Covid-19 guidelines/SOPs/restrictions strictly throughout the valley.”
“Police has arrested 121 persons, lodged 74 FIRs and also realized fine to the tune of Rs 56,210/- from 407 people for violating the guidelines/rules throughout Kashmir valley,” said a handout.
