Early Times Report

Kishtwar, May 26: People of Lohidar in Mughal Maidan tehsil of this district rued the poor and dilapidated condition of the road which is under construction since the past one decade.
Speaking to Early Times, the people said that PMGSY failed to maintain the surface of the road as a result of which it becomes a death trap for the vehicles travelling on this road. The people said that the road is full of pot holes and due to water logging, the road surface becomes slippery as result of which the vehicles many a time got stuck in the mud.
The people said that they often had to push the vehicles after they got trapped in muddy surface and urged upon the administration to look into the matter. The villagers said that during rain and snowfall- the situation gets worsened. The people said the land owners had not received any land compensation and demanded that same should be paid to them at an earliest.
“The department last year assured us that the road will be black topped, but nothing has been done till date” said the villagers adding that they are hopeful that administration will issue necessary directions to the concerned department for maintenance of road surface as well as for block topping of the road so that people feel respite from the problems faced by them while traveling on this road.
