Div Com visits Khour, Jourian; inspects covid care facilities in rural areas

JAMMU, May 26: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Dr Raghav Langer on Wednesday conducted an extensive tour of Akhnoor and Khour sub division of district Jammu and inspected the covid care centres and development activities in rural areas.
The Divisional Commissioner inspected covid care centres at Akhnoor, Khour and Jourian.
He visited Government Ayurveda Medical College Akhnoor and inspected the facilities being developed there for Covid patients. The Div Com directed concerned officers to ensure cleanliness in covid care centres, functioning of Oxygen concentrators.
He also visited Sub District Hospital Akhnoor and inspected the non covid health care facility in the hospital.
He took a round of various blocks of the Hospital including the Emergency ward, Recovery Ward and Vaccination site. He also took stock of sanitation, food quality, drinking water, bedding, and health care facilities there. The BMO Akhnoor apprised the Div Com about the status of vaccination and percentage achieved so far. The Div Com directed the BMO to expedite the process and motivate people to take doses of the vaccine.
During his Tour, the Divisional Commissioner also visited Community Health Centres at Dhanger, Khour and Jourian and inspected the Medicare facilities being provided to the patients and status of vaccination. The Div Com said that the Government is leaving no stone unturned to provide best quality healthcare facilities to the people in its endeavor to combat the Covid-19 pandemic.
Meanwhile, the Div Com also visited various villages and inspected the isolation facilities being created at Panchayats level for the patients who cannot manage home isolation. He took stock of sanitation, water and power supply to these centers. He instructed the concerned departments to ensure regular sanitation, uninterrupted water and power supply to these centres. He also interacted with the elected public representatives, PRI members and inquired about the development requirements of their respective area. They projected various demands and the concerned officers apprised that most of the issues would be resolved under languishing projects, PMDP, area development plans and other government funded projects.
The Div Com urged the people to cooperate and encourage the frontline workers who are fighting against Covid-19. He appealed to the public to stay indoors, maintain social distance and follow advisories to contain the spread of the virus.
Meanwhile, he also visited the construction site of Indri- Pargwal Bridge which is being constructed over River Chenab. The locals demanded resumption of the work on the bridge for its early completion to benefit the people of adjoining villages.
The Div Com was accompanied by Additional District Development Commissioner Jammu, Sub Divisional Magistrates, Tehsildars, Block Development Chairpersons of Akhnoor and Khour besides officers of Health Department, Engineers of JPDCL, Jal Shakti, PWD and other concerned.
