| GCW Udhampur oganizes webinar on let's talk period ‘No Hesitation Around Mensturation' | | |

Jammu, Jun 15: Mensturation is a normal and healthy part of life for most women. A lack of information about mensturation leads to damaging misconceptions and can came girls to miss out on normal childhood.
In this regard,Government College for Women, Udhampur organised online webinar titled ‘Let's Talk Period: No Hesitation Around Mensturation' under the auspices of 2 J&K Girls BN Jammu.
Dr. Simar Deep Kaur, the resource person, is the MO at PCMC,PGI Chandigarh . The motive of the webinar was to provide basic information on the menustration hygiene and periods taboos. She talked about some basics terms like menarche, menopause and amenorrhea. With her presentation, she highlighted many crucial points such as duration, physiology of mensturation and myths regarding periods as well as diet. Approximately 78 cadets attended the webinar with a discussion session in the end. Prof Minu Mahajan, Principal GCW Udhampur said, “Only adolescent girls and women menstruate but everyone in society needs to have a basic understanding of it.” She further appreciated Lt. (Dr.) Kamal Deep Kaur, ANO NCC for organising such informative session for the students of the College. |
